Formed in April 2005,it is the mission of Tartan Army to become a solid community of high-quality players
with a reputation that makes others want to be a part of it. Our definition of “high quality” is not the typical clan definition. We define “high-quality” as consisting of a healthy, positive attitude toward gaming; a team-oriented disposition; and a desire to develop strong gaming skills. Because of this, you may encounter clan members who don’t “own” everyone on every server they play on, or even score in the top 5. But you can be sure that these players are the guys you want to team up with: they’ll watch your back, listen to your strategies, always try their best to have fun, and never take off on you on their own “one-man army” crusade.

Our recruitment philosophy is simple. Of course this doesn’t mean we won’t be selective, because we will. But in Tartan Army, a player is innocent until proven guilty; it’s assumed from the get-go that he/she is going to play in-line with our gaming philosophy, but if that fails to happen the player will be publicly banished from the clan. All cheaters, whiners, and fools will be banned from the server and the web-site. This is how we maintain a quality clan, and keep the gaming fun. The Clan is also limited by size - we will not accept new members after our ranks are full, so join while you can!!!!!

The Founder, Admin's and members of the Tartan Army believe that the online gaming community has also lost touch with its roots. When online gaming first became available to the average Joe, there was a greater sense of community: gamers were excited to have the opportunity to play against human players over the internet and never hesitated to help each other solve connection problems, pc problems, etc. While it’s true that many of the gaming forums on the net provide for this and contain valuable information, they contain just as much, if not more, flaming, accusing, and criticizing. Therefore, our first goal is to bring together a group of gamers who want to support each other, have fun, and show all those other clans what online gaming should really be about: having a good time!

We’re sick and tired of having our gaming ruined by some jerk who thinks the game is more enjoyable if he or she cheats. These vermin don’t realize that not only does cheating take the challenge out of the game for them, it also spoils it for everyone else, and turns the experience into a ego-contest by making the goal “who can rack up the most kills”. The Tartan Army leaders think the fun level of the game can be greatly enhanced when the players have a positive, team-oriented
attitude, and are playing for fun. Therefore, the leaders of the Tartan Army have the second goal of creating the most enjoyable online gaming experience possible, free of jerks, whiners, hackers, and self-proclaimed gaming “gods”. We will do everything and anything we can to ensure that our server is clean from these vermin.
